Preaching 101: Deadlines

Did you know that even God meet deadlines?

In John 11:1-54, a story about how Jesus raised Lazarus from his tomb. Note: this is not exactly how it appears in the Bible, I just wanna share it according to my own understanding.

Mary and Martha, Lazarus's sisters asked a messenger to approach Jesus to heal their brother's sickness. As soon as Jesus knew about what has happened, he said "This sickness will not end in death". He stayed for 2 more days to where he was after he heard that Lazarus was sick.

On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus has been in the tomb for 4 days. Mary and Martha felt a little disappointment since they are expecting that Jesus will respond immediately. As they saw Jesus, they said "if you had been here, my brother would not have died". Jesus replied, "Your brother will rise again".

They went to the place where Lazarus was laid and Jesus said, "Lazarus, come out!". So there, Lazarus rise again with a strips of linen wrapped all over his hands and feet and a cloth around his face.

See? Even though Jesus didn't respond by the time they approach him, He already did his part. Jesus will give you what you needed not in your timeline but in his own. Do not be disappointed if what you've asked to Jesus has not yet to come for He will give you what is best in his own perfect time.

You don't have to worry most especially when meeting the deadlines. Look up! God is always in control. According to Pastor Rob earlier, the best advice he could give if you wanna know God's answers to your problems immediately, go get a BIBLE! (the Bible says it all!)

Even if you're not yet telling Jesus about your problems, He is already searching for a solution. That's how Amazing our God is! =)
